根據YAHOO FINANCE分析報導，儘管Keystone XL油管仍等待最後核准(目前正進行評估，此一過程預計要到2014年中以後完成)，可以確定的是北美能源復興是真的。

由於美國正著眼於最終達成能源獨立的可能性，目前其國內原油與天然氣生產均已上升。

回顧2006年，布希總統在國情咨文演說中，提出美國已高度依賴原油的說法。雖然國內原油消費已較當時下降，但目前的消費及國外需求上升，應可讓美國石油業進展良好。

UBS銀行分析師David Lefkowitz相信，未來十年內，美國終將達成能源獨立。不只如此，Lefkowitz還相信國內天然氣過剩，將讓美國成為這項商品的淨出口國。
