中國雲南一名小學校長熊朝貴，近30年來他堅守留在偏鄉內教育孩子，他說老師的職責不僅是教好書，還要育好人。

據英國《每日郵報》報導，熊朝貴身高約122公分，當年因為太矮，被拒絕進入大學。因為這份「歧視」，讓他決心要獻身教育界，幫助更多受到歧視的孩子。熊朝貴說，他到了雲南偏鄉，發現這些孩子都是「被拋棄」的一群。他們的父母到城市工作，長期來無法照顧他們，加上城鄉差距越來越大，孩子所接受的教育越來越落後於城市孩子。但熊朝貴不想放棄他們，他取代孩子的父母照顧他們，但他憂心，鄉村教育的資源絕對會被剝奪。

熊朝貴說：「我自小受到各種歧視，不過更多的時候是向我伸出援助的手，才使得我擺脫極度自卑，放下心理負擔，走到現在。」熊朝貴還說，他知道在每一次困境時，有人幫助是多麼重要。「如果我們不管這些孩子，誰能管呢？老師的職責不僅是教好書，還要育好人」。（施旖婕／綜合外電報導）
