食品垃圾成再生能源　英超市自產電力

英國超市連鎖集團「Sainsbury's」計畫把自家的食品垃圾轉化成電力供應，他們也將成為英國首家擺脫國家電網供電的零售商。 　　

Sainsbury's位於斯塔福德郡的Cannock超市將所有食品廢料送往英國最大的厭氧發酵電廠，將食物廢料轉換成沼氣，然後用來發電。電廠將通過一條1.5公里長的專用供電線，直接向超市提供電力供應。 　　

據報導，該超市雖然向慈善組織捐贈大量剩餘食品，甚至用作動物飼料，但每年仍然有數以千噸計的食物廢料。公司發言人也很高興能使用新科技，充分利用廢物。（國際中心／綜合外電報導）
