抗議開採金礦污染 羅馬尼亞連8天示威

為了抗議加拿大公司計劃在羅馬尼亞風景如畫的外西凡尼亞(Transylvanian)地區，進行歐洲最大的金礦開採案，數以千計的羅馬尼亞人8日連續第八天走上街頭抗爭。

加拿大的加百利能源(Gabriel Resources)公司希望在喀爾巴阡山脈(Carpathian)的羅西亞蒙坦拿(Rosia Montana)提煉300噸黃金，但其開採技術需要用到上千噸的氰化物。反對民眾認為，如此將造成環境污染。

大約3千名羅馬尼亞人聚集在首都布加勒斯特(Bucharest)的大學廣場(University Square)，高喊著「團結！我們可以拯救羅西亞蒙坦拿」，並且朝向政府總部遊行示威。

示威群眾手持「我愛自然，不愛氰化物」、以及「貪污等同於氰化物」的標語，他們並要求總理彭塔(Victor Ponta)下台。彭塔政府上個月採用一項為開採計畫清除障礙的法案，不過這項草案仍需經由國會通過。

除了首都之外，在外西凡尼亞的主要城市克魯治(Cluj)，也有大約6千人參與示威。

在羅西亞蒙坦拿金礦公司(Rosia Montana Gold Corporation)持股八成的加百利能源，是在1999年取得開採執照，但至今仍在等待羅馬尼亞環境部核准。
