據外媒報導，美國能源部下屬能源情報署(簡稱EIA)周五稱，大陸將在10月份取代美國成為全球最大的石油淨進口國，並將在2014年全年保持這一頭銜。

根據匯通網報導，作為目前全球最大的石油進口國，美國的石油需求持穩，且頁岩油的產量正在飆升，大幅降低了進口需求。而緊隨其後的大陸則顯示出強勁的增速，且對進口石油的需求日益增加。周四的資料表明，大陸7月份原油進口量達到紀錄高點，較上年同期高出20%。

EIA在周二發布的月度短期能源展望中稱，預計10月份美國本土原油產量將自1995年2月以來首次超過進口量。

根據EIA的預計，美國10月份石油需求將為1,861萬桶/日，較上年同期微降0.6%。與此同時，美國液態燃油供應量將達到1,238萬桶/日，同比提高7.5%。有鑒于此，10月的淨進口量預計將減少13.5%，至623萬桶/日。

大陸方面，EIA預計10月需求同比增長2%，有史以來第一次超過1,100萬桶/日。而燃油供應量僅僅增長80,000餘桶/日。這意味著淨進口量需要較上年同期增加140,000桶/日才能彌補供需缺口。據此計算，10月份大陸液態燃油淨進口量預計將達645萬桶/日，較美國同期水平高出3.5%，合接近215,000桶/日。

EIA估計，12月份中美兩國的淨進口量將不分上下，都為600萬桶/日左右。

至於2014年，EIA預計美國燃油淨進口量將減少12%，至557萬桶/日，創1986年以來最低水平。而到時大陸的淨進口量則有望提高6.1%，至657萬桶/日，較美國高出100萬桶/日，合18%。
