投資銀行巴克萊 (Barclays PLC) 給投資人的最新備忘錄中指出，原物料投資正形成史上最大資金出走潮，該公司所管理的原物料資產中，今年 11 月就較去年同期流出 880 億美元資金。

巴克萊分析師 Suki Cooper 指出，但若排除交易所交易的貴金屬產品，11 月原物料交易所產品和指數掉期產品則可見到將近 40 億美元的淨流入。雖然還欠缺 12 月的數據，但可以觀察出，2013 年連結原物料指數的投資流入，可能會是 3 年來終於轉正的一年。

不過該行分析師也表示，明年對原物料投資人而言會是「困難的一年」，因為市場將看不出什麼明確且可持續的趨勢。

備忘錄並說，2014 年初，基本金屬的表現將優於貴金屬。分析師看多倫敦金屬交易所的鎳，認為黃金可逢高出脫，原油方面，則較看好西德州原油期貨。
