【綜合報導】美國卡羅來納一育有10個孩子的男子伯納特(Brent Snr)深信電磁脈衝總有一天會發生，導致全球大停電，地球回到數百年前的黑暗世紀，他從1999年開始在阿帕拉契山上（Appalachian Mountains）建蓋「末日城堡」(Doomsday Castle) ，並訓練孩子使用中古世紀的武器，以對抗外來入侵者。
 
國家地理頻道紀錄下這一家人為迎接世界末日，在末日城堡所做的種種準備，孩子從5歲開始學習射箭，6歲學習槍擊，爸爸還會三不五時舉辦生存遊戲，像是找來其他好友突襲自己的孩子，孩子必須學會如何躲開漆彈和煙霧彈的攻擊等等。
 
家人坦承不少人認為爸爸過於瘋狂，不過他們都支持爸爸的信念，也願意加入爸爸的行列，為世界末日做好準備。
