【黃仲瑜／新北報導】昨天深夜10時許，林口往五股的登林路上發生一起汽車火警意外。黃女駕駛1輛10多年的BMW 轎車，行經五股區登林路時，突然聽到引擎室發出爆炸聲響，趕緊將車子靠往路邊並下車查看，但下車沒多久整輛車就起火燃燒， 女車主趕緊打電話報警。
 
警消人員獲報趕抵現場，立刻拉起水線灌救，火勢順利撲滅，但車子引擎部分已全部燒毀，起火原因仍待進一步調查。

【綜合報導】美國參議院在台灣時間1日凌晨2點，開會表決共和黨提出的預算案附帶條件，也就是將歐巴馬總統的醫療改革法案擱置1年，結果以54票對46票，否決附帶條件，2黨現在剩下不到12小時，解決歧見。
 
美國政府本會計年度，在台灣時間1日中午12點前結束，如果2黨無法在期限前就預算案達成共識，美國政府將勢必會重蹈17年前柯林頓政府的覆轍，暫時關門大吉。雖然負責國家安全的三軍及緊急救難等單位的員工仍將在領不到薪水的情況下，繼續留在工作崗位。但只要政府持續停擺，估計將有超過100萬聯邦政府員工賦閒在家。

新任法務部長羅瑩雪下午從代理部長陳明堂手中接過印信，交接典禮中，她提到過去1個小故事。

她25年前離開司法行政部（法務部前身），以37歲的「高齡」擔任律師，出庭1個偵查中的案件，當時非常緊張，但很幸運的遇到幽默、親切的檢察官指導她，讓她學到很多、感念至今，「這名檢察官，就是在座陳明堂檢察官」。

語畢，所有觀禮人員立即哄堂大笑並報以熱烈掌聲，陳明堂也坐在位置上微笑回應。
