受麥德姆颱風影響，中央氣象局發布豪雨特報，經濟部水利署也對宜蘭縣、花蓮縣、台東縣、屏東縣等4個縣市發布淹水一級警戒，提醒4縣市居民嚴加注意。

所謂淹水一級警戒，是指發布淹水警戒的鄉(鎮、市、區)如持續降雨，其轄內易淹水村里及道路可能已經開始積淹水。

水利署發布的淹水一級警戒，在宜蘭縣部分，警戒鄉鎮為大同鄉的寒溪村、台7線路段，以及復興村；花蓮縣部分，警戒鄉鎮有花蓮市、新城鄉、光復鄉、玉里鎮、秀林鄉、壽豐鄉、鳳林鎮、瑞穗鄉、卓溪鄉等。

台東縣的淹水一級警戒鄉鎮為成功鎮、東河鄉；屏東縣的警戒鄉鎮有東港鎮、佳冬鄉、新埤鄉、崁頂鄉、南州鄉等。
