隨社會福利制度日趨健全，身障朋友的交通需求亦逐漸受重視，無障礙的交通政策推動，包括小型復康巴士、低底盤公車、無障礙計程車等，都已成為身障朋友日常生活重要的交通工具，但歷年來身障人口屢創新高，在推動「小型復康巴士」服務時也遇到供不應求的狀況，台北市為解決身障人口的外出難題，預計將於一○三年底達到三百二十輛，屆時也期望滿足北市身障朋友的使用需求。
