香港引入最低工資法例已三年，還記得當年經濟學家討論有關法例時，擔心失業率會上升，年長、年輕和缺乏工作經驗的工人會首先被裁。原本最低工資的目的是幫助低薪工人，結果低薪工人變成失業工人，政府好心做壞事。

經過三年的驗證，實際情況又如何？立法會在 2010年 7月三讀通過《最低工資條例草案》，同年 10月最低工資委員會建議首個最低工資定在時薪 28元。 2011年 5月，最低工資法例正式推行。要全面評估最低工資法例對本地勞工市場的影響，有待經濟學家作嚴謹的研究和分析。因為要評估法例的影響，必須控制其他因素（即假設其他因素不變），單單考慮法例對勞工市場的影響。
