股票週轉率高低代表股市熱絡或交投冷清，通常來說，週轉率可分為成交量週轉率及成交值週轉率。

股票週轉率該如何計算？若是成交量週轉率，則是當日交易的總股數與上市的總股數的比率；若是成交值週轉率，指的或是當日的成交值與上市的股數總市值的比率。

當週轉率高時，代表股票在投資人之間轉換頻率高，也表示市場的流動性高，過去台股集中市場週轉率在1990年代時，曾衝高到300％多。

不過，週轉率過高，也可能是因為市場中充斥太多投機者搶短線所造成的，但過低則代表市場交投萎縮，投資人參與意願低。
