美國白宮發言人厄尼思特27日表示，中國與日本間的島嶼爭議應透過外交途徑解決。厄尼思特指出，「中國於周末宣布的政策屬無必要的刺激性作法。雙方這一類的歧見，不應以威脅或刺激性的語言來處理，而更應以外交途徑解決。」
