動物園缺錢有如地獄　瀕危虎瘦到皮包骨

【於慶中／綜合外電報導】印尼泗水動物園(Surabaya Zoo)曾經是東南亞數一數二的動物園，園內有3500隻動物，包括瀕臨絕種的紅色猩猩及蘇門答臘虎。

但近年來動物園因為沒錢，環境變得極度惡劣，猩猩喝的是受污染的水，鷹和鵜鶘被塞進狹小的籠子中，根本沒有空間展翅，其他的動物也都生活在嚴峻環境下，單是過去3個月內，便有50隻動物死亡，現在已經被外界稱為「惡夢動物園」(nightmare zoo)。

近年共有3隻蘇門答臘虎、數條科摩多龍(Komodo Dragon)及一頭長頸鹿死亡。園內的蘇門答臘虎女王Melani，因長年被餵飼受到農藥污染的雞肉，導致無法再消化堅硬食物，體重由原來的100公斤瘦到不到一半的44公斤，必須被送往其他動物園療養。
