這一世紀以來，汽車在經濟發展與人類生活模式中，扮演著舉足輕重的角色，而汽車普及化的幕後功臣，便是美國汽車大廠Ford Motors Company創辦人－亨利福特(Henry Ford)。亨利福特於1913年10月7日將流動式生產線(Mass Production)導入汽車製造業，降低汽車製造成本，使汽車成為家家戶戶買得起的移動工具，為全人類開啟了新四輪時代。而2013年10月7日便是流水式生產線導入汽車製造屆滿100周年，亦是人類移動方式變革的重要里程碑。
