促改變，竹市長視察棒球場改善工程

曾被球員與球迷批為「全台最爛」球場的新竹市立中正棒球場，新竹市政府爭取經費，已整修改善球員休息室、淋浴間及熱水設備、計分板及廁所等工程，新竹市長許明財今天到球場視察，傾聽球員意見，並交流想法。許明財說，市府要為球員打造完善舒適的比賽環境，讓球迷能享受觀賽樂趣。

許明財表示，市府感受到球隊與球迷的需求與期盼，加快修繕腳步，體育署編列1600萬元，加上市府600萬元做先期改善，要讓36年老球場脫胎換骨，改變球迷對它的觀感。
