【大紀元2013年08月20日訊】（大紀元記者韓婕編譯）印度東部比哈爾邦（Bihar）19日清晨發生火車撞人事故，一列高速行駛的火車撞上軌道上印度教的朝聖人群，至少37人包括婦女和兒童在鐵道遭碾壓喪生，另有40多人受傷。憤怒群眾襲擊火車司機，縱火燒車廂，並搗毀火車站。

總理辛格（Manmohan Singh）對事故死傷者表示悲痛，呼籲群眾保持冷靜，方便官方展開救援行動。事故發生後幾個小時後，仍可見火焰和冒著滾滾黑煙的火車車廂，達馬拉加特小鎮（Dhamara Ghat）抗議群眾還阻止消防隊員救火。

印度鐵道部發言人薩克辛納（Anil Saxena）在新德里的新聞發佈會說，當拉吉亞拉尼（Rajya Rani）特快列車以每小時80公里經過時，眾多才下車的朝聖者正擁緊的穿越鐵軌。

鐵路官員說，已獲得通行指示的特快車，在當地是不停站的，但一些朝聖者站在鐵道上，以為列車會因為他們而停下。列車撞到軌道上的朝聖者後，又行駛了數百米才剎停。朝聖者暴打火車司機，目前在醫院急救，情況危殆。

約有5,000人聚集火車站附近，暴徒將乘客趕下列車，蹤火焚車；一群年青人還將站內停靠的另兩列火車車窗砸碎。群眾還追打試圖清理現場的政府官員和警察，站內鐵路警察和工作人員已逃離。

州政府雖擬派遣軍隊到讓地維持秩序，但因鐵路不通而受阻。

一名列車上的乘客阿休土什（Kumar Ashutosh）說，列車司機進站時未減速，看到人時已剎車不及，緊急剎車，列車停下後，人群開始向列車聚集，司機和助手被拉下火車，遭群眾毆打；而被趕下列車的乘客，步行了9公里（6英里）才走到下一火車站搭車。

達馬拉加特小鎮位於比哈爾邦首府巴特納（Patna）北方約280公里（175英里）。19日是該鎮附近的印度教卡泰亞亞尼寺廟（Katyayani）為期一個月的朝聖月的最後一日，朝聖者當時正完成晨禱，由寺廟返回。

印度的鐵路系統每日運載超過1,850萬人次，整個印度鐵路運輸網每日約運行10,000次客運列車。印度每日平均有40人死於火車事故，有些是搭乘通勤火車的乘客，因列車擁擠，被擠下火車而亡。
